Week 1
Greetings and feelings
Resource pack supplied
In class I am using Te Reo greetings each morning and have made a "challenge" to add to
independent reading activities for the children to practice . Using the song "Tena Koe" and
during community time on Friday.4th may Tui & Kea classes worked together to make finger
puppets to practise greetings. I started reciting one line of the Eskdale Pepeha in week 8 of Term 1.
This is going really week and I have been surprised at how well the class remembered this after
the holidays
Further actions - This is going well but I need to continue to model, reinforce and encourage
the children to practise this for them to become confident and for the Reo to be used in an everyday
way. Keep working on the Pepeha one adding one new line a week. The children are enjoying this
